Check out the famous Venetian bridges such as the Rialto Bridge and the Bridge of Sighs. The first was thrown across the Grand Canal. It consists of two inclined surfaces that are connected in the center. The second one is thrown over the Palace Canal. The name of the channel comes from the fact that convicts passed through it to the Doge's Palace, which included a courtroom and prison premises.
See the magnificent churches of Venice, such as the Church of Santa Maria della Salute It consists of eight facades, erected after the end of the plague epidemic in 1631-1681. Also in Venice there is the Church of Santa Maria Gloriosa Dei Frari, which is notable for the fact that it was built for almost a hundred years: 1250 to 1338. Its bell tower is 70 meters high.
You can get involved in art and enjoy the works of Italian painting in the Academy Gallery. Here you can see works by Titian and Bellini, as well as by Giorgione, Tintoretto and Veronese.
If you are in Venice before Lent, be sure to check out the Venetian Carnival, which lasts 10 days. While in Piazza San Marco, you will see famous performances featuring characters from Italian folklore - Harlequin and Columbine, Pierrot and Pantalone. On the streets of the city you can see an unforgettable carnival procession with concerts and fireworks.
