Many residents of Ukraine periodically need to travel to one of the EU countries, for example, to Germany. It can be either a business trip or a personal visit - in the early nineties, quite a lot of citizens of the former USSR emigrated to Germany. But organizing such a trip can be tricky. How can this be done correctly?

Step 1
If you haven't done so before, get your passport. To do this, come to the passport service department at the place of residence with a passport of a citizen of Ukraine, a police clearance certificate (can be obtained from the internal affairs body at the place of residence), a birth certificate and a certificate with an individual citizen identification code. Also, you must pay in advance in one of the banks the state fee, which for 2011 is 85 hryvnia. Fill out the application on the spot. After that, you will need to wait for the paperwork for a month.
If you want to receive a document in an expedited manner, it is possible, but with the condition of paying an increased state fee of 170 hryvnia. In this case, your passport will be prepared for you in ten days.
Step 2
Buy a ticket. The cheapest, but also the least convenient form of transport is the bus. Keep in mind that it is impossible to accurately predict the time of his arrival at his destination - it all depends on the degree of workload of the border service. It is faster and more convenient to travel by plane, but if you are afraid of flying, the train is a good option for you.
If you are looking for the lowest ticket prices, check overseas booking sites. Often, a ticket can be purchased there cheaper than directly from the airline or at the train station.
Step 3
Contact the German consulate for a visa. It is located in Kiev at st. Zlatoustievskaya, 37. To consider your application, prepare documents confirming your purpose of staying in the camp. The tourist needs to present an invitation or a paid voucher, hotel and ticket reservation, as well as a certificate of salary or bank account status as confirmation of financial solvency. The traveler must add to the package of documents the paper on the receiving party - a German or international company. A student traveling to Germany to study will need an admission paper from an educational institution.
Step 4
You can fill out the visa application form on the spot or download it in advance from the embassy's website. After submitting the documents, wait for a response from the visa issuing center staff. Depending on the type of visa, this can take from three days or more.
