An electronic ticket (e-ticket) is an agreement between an airline and a passenger for air transportation. On June 1, 2008, the International Civil Aviation Association (IATA) obliged passenger airlines to switch to an electronic ticket sales system.
Instructions
Step 1
You can book and purchase electronic tickets on the websites of airlines or on specialized booking sites online. The document will be sent to your email address in the form of an itinerary receipt. All booking information and your details will be stored electronically. In addition, you can buy e-tickets at one of the air ticket offices.

This document cannot be lost, forgotten or stolen, as all information goes into the booking system. If you forgot to take your itinerary receipt to the airport with you, you can still check in for the flight with a passport and a child's birth certificate (if you are traveling with children).

It is very easy to read it. The receipt contains all the details of the flight and the necessary information related to it. At the top is the name of the agency from which you purchased your ticket.

Next comes the date of the route printout and the password of the agent who printed the route.

Under this information, you will see your first and last name.

Then follows the name of the validating carrier - the airline on the form of which the carriage will be issued.

Next is the number of your e-ticket and the booking number in the Amadeus system or in the airline's system.

Now the most important thing will be - the flight number and airline code, city of departure / arrival, airport, time of departure, terminal, class of service, date and month of departure, fare code. Please note that the local departure time is always indicated.

You will find information on the maximum allowed luggage weight on the itinerary receipt. It is indicated in the column next to the class of service.

There you will also find information about the total cost of the air ticket and the tariffs and fees from which it was formed.

The itinerary receipt must contain the necessary information for passengers.

An electronic travel document facilitates and speeds up the process of purchasing and receiving an air ticket. If you are an Internet user, you can book and print it from anywhere in the world. The most convenient way to pay for it is by credit card. However, if you prefer a different type of payment, the booking sites will offer you all possible options.
Step 13
Confirmation that you have purchased an electronic document from the airline is an itinerary receipt. Despite the fact that without it you can register, it is recommended to have it among other documents. It can be useful to you when going through passport control abroad, if you are asked to show a return ticket.
