Sending parcels by mail can take significantly from two weeks to a month. Not everyone is satisfied with such terms, and courier delivery is not cheap. If you need to send something to your loved ones as quickly as possible, use the services of train guides.
It is necessary
- - package;
- - money;
- - train schedule.
Instructions
Step 1
Find out the schedule of the nearest train routes passing through your city in the desired direction. This can be done by directly arriving at the station, by calling the dispatcher, or by looking at the Russian Railways website or any resource offering the sale of train tickets.
Step 2
Collect the parcel and pack it in a container that can be easily unpacked so that the conductor can verify the legality of the contents of the parcel. Include a sheet with the recipient's contact details and initials in the shipment. It may be necessary to describe the person in a few words so that the conductor understands exactly who he should give the package to. As a last resort, come up with some passphrase and write it down too.
Step 3
Come to the platform a little earlier than the train's arrival time in order to know exactly where it stops and not to get lost in the crowd. Wait until the passengers get out of the cars and go to the conductor, who is not busy checking tickets. Explain your request to him and, if he agrees to hand over the parcel, specify the cost of the service. Write down the carriage number and the name of the conductor. This data, as well as the time, date of arrival and the name of the train, you must inform the recipient of the parcel.
Step 4
Contact the head of the station or a special service center if you do not want to trust the parcel to a stranger who cannot provide you with any supporting documents. Since 2009, Russian Railways has legalized the transfer of parcels and parcels on its trains. But be careful, the weight of the transferred items should not exceed 500 g. In addition, this service may not operate on all railway lines. Keep in mind that you need to know in advance whether a parcel can be sent in this way.
