It is best to plan your vacation in advance and prepare carefully for every trip abroad. The entry rules of European countries in relation to Russia are quite strict, but, fortunately, there are states on its territory that a citizen of the Russian Federation can enter without first applying for a visa.
At the junction of Europe and Asia
The list is opened, of course, by Turkey, popular among Russian tourists. Most of this country is located in Asia, but the capital and part of the territory is in Europe. Turkey is notable for its excellent tourist infrastructure, warm climate and the opportunity to organize both "beach" and "cultural" holidays. From January 1, 2014, Russians can stay in the country for 30 days if they have a passport, a certain amount of money in their account, a hotel reservation or a return ticket.
Visa-free countries of the Balkans
The Balkans is a hospitable region for Russian tourists, which includes five countries, which a Russian can visit without a visa.
1. Bosnia and Herzegovina. In this mountainous country, you can spend up to 30 days without a visa if the purpose of your trip is tourism and you have a passport valid for three months from the date of the end of the trip, a travel agency voucher and a hotel reservation.
2. Macedonia. A very easy country to visit. You can stay in it for 90 days if you have a passport and medical insurance for the duration of your stay.
3. Serbia. Any citizen of the Russian Federation with a passport can stay in the country for 30 days.
If your visit to Serbia lasts more than two days, you need to register with the police at your place of stay.
4. Albania. Holidays in Albania without a visa is possible only from May 25 to September 25. In this case, upon presentation of your passport, you can spend up to 90 days in the country. For visits outside the specified season, a Schengen visa is required.
5. Montenegro. This country, popular among tourists, is waiting for all holders of passports from Russia. The term of the visit is up to 30 days.
Entry to Montenegro is paid. The duty is collected at the airport of arrival.
In addition to these countries, there are a number of CIS states that are also located in Europe. Many of them are not so exotic for a Russian, but you should not deny them attention. Moreover, for entry, it is often enough to have only a civil passport.
