A boarding pass is a document by which a passenger on an aircraft can board. Nobody is allowed on the plane without a boarding pass. This is usually a standard rectangular piece of paper with rounded corners, but recently printed electronic boarding passes have become widespread.

Step 1
In general, a boarding pass, or boarding pass, looks like a rectangle made of thick paper, its size is approximately 20 x 8 cm. The form is divided into two parts, the left is slightly larger than the right. During boarding, airport employees tear off the left side of the boarding pass, and leave the right side to the passenger.
Step 2
The boarding pass contains all the information necessary for the flight: the name of the airline, the airports of departure and arrival, the direction of the flight, the time of departure, the name of the passenger, the seat number and the class of service. Also on the boarding pass there is a bar code strip, which is read by a special device - a scanner to verify the authenticity of the form.
Step 3
Boarding passes may differ in design, as many airlines tend to put their own attributes and logos on them. Sometimes there is an advertisement on the other side of the boarding pass. If the airline does not care about a special style for its coupons, then the form will be equipped with the attributes of the corporate identity of the airport, or it will be a simple sheet of paper, without any logos and decorations.
Step 4
There are also electronic boarding passes. When an airline is seeking to save on passenger service to keep the plane ticket as cheap as possible, it sometimes waives the issuance of standard boarding passes. This is often the case with low-cost airlines. European low-cost airlines ask passengers to print their own boarding passes, which they receive when buying tickets over the Internet, while Asian airlines may even issue something that looks like a check from a supermarket instead of a boarding pass. Whatever the boarding pass is, it must still contain all the information about the flight and the passenger.
Step 5
There is another type of boarding pass - electronic. You need to print it yourself at the airport. The company sends a message to the passenger's e-mail, which contains the coupon code. You need to either attach the phone with the code to the device scanner, or print it out in advance at the registration desk.
Step 6
If you are not entirely clear on how to get a boarding pass (these forms are sometimes quite exotic), follow the instructions from the airline and do not hesitate to further clarify all the exciting moments with the airport staff.
Step 7
The usual procedure for obtaining a boarding pass is as follows. You queue up at the check-in counter for the flight (if you're lucky, there won't even be a queue), then the airline employee checks the data from your passport with his program, and then gives you a boarding pass.
Step 8
You can check in at self check-in counters, which are available at many major airports. This is only possible if your passport is biometric. The biometrics standard of a Russian passport is somewhat different from the generally accepted one, so sometimes the document cannot be read. This is not a reason to worry, just get a coupon in the general order at the check-in counter.
