San Jose is the capital of Costa Rica, located at an altitude of about 1000 meters above sea level. The city consists mainly of low-rise colonial-style houses that were built a long time ago.
In the center of the city there is an underground gold museum, which was founded before the time of Columbus. Here are collected exhibits made by hands of Indian craftsmen. The Cathedral of San Jose and the National Theater of Costa Rica deserve special attention. And also there are numerous museums: natural history, modern science, ancient civilizations, a museum for children and adolescents, and others. On the market of the city you can buy a lot of different souvenirs made by local craftsmen.
There are several high-rise buildings in the city - this is the hotel and the publication of the national park, the bank, which many tourists are guided by. It is almost impossible to get lost here, as the streets in the city are wide, straight and not very long. Exotic trees grow on the streets.
On the slopes of the mountains there are coffee plantations that are visible from anywhere in the city. Costa Rica prepares delicious coffee that you can take as a souvenir. Wooden figurines and wicker bags are also popular here.
The climate is subequatorial, with an average temperature of 19 to 27 degrees with a plus sign. There are no abrupt changes in the seasons here, so the rest will be comfortable almost at any time of the year.
