You will find the valley of daffodils four kilometers from the Transcarpathian town of Khust in a unique biosphere reserve. Once a year, for one to two weeks in May, this place becomes magical. On an area of 257 hectares, more than five hundred species of plants grow here, of which fifteen are listed in the Red Book. The reserve is protected, and violators who pick flowers and trample on them are fined.

This place is full of legends. As one of them says, a long time ago a prince lived in the Khust castle with a princess and daughter Rus. The girl rejected enviable and rich suitors, she kept in her heart love for the local potter Ivanko. The young man gave the prince's daughter a vase with a picture of a daffodil. The prince, having learned about the love of Russia, threw a gift from a high mountain. The vase shattered, and thousands of shards scattered across the valley. In the morning, the field was covered with blooming daffodils.

But the whole valley of daffodils is not a legend, but a reality that you can look at if you get there. Come to Transcarpathia in May and see this fantastic extravaganza of fragrant flowers. Unfortunately, the area of the valley of daffodils decreases from year to year, they are replaced by other less capricious plants.

The cherished valley can be reached from Uzhgorod, and the Kiev - Uzhgorod train goes to this city. Choose a train convenient for you, which will take you to Uzhgorod. Go to the bus station, which is literally across the street from the train station. At this time, minibuses and buses go to the valley of daffodils very often.
