Bratsk is the second most populous city in the Irkutsk region, a large industrial center of Eastern Siberia. Bratsk is a very young city that appeared in 1955. Despite the uncomfortable climatic and environmental conditions, it is quite developed in terms of infrastructure.
Instructions
Step 1
The fastest way to get to Bratsk is by air. This can be done from Moscow, Irkutsk, Krasnoyarsk and even Krasnodar. Travel time from Moscow, for example, will be about 6 hours. Bratsk International Airport serves flights of six Russian airlines. Comfortable An-148 planes fly from Irkutsk to Bratsk three times a week. Such a plane covers 500 kilometers separating two cities in less than an hour.
Step 2
If for some reason air transport does not suit you, then you can get to Bratsk by rail. It should be noted that the city is located not on the Trans-Siberian Railway, but on the Baikal-Amur Railway. Despite the fact that Bratsk is one of the largest cities on the BAM, there is no central station here. Choose one of four stations, depending on which area of the city you want to get to. On trains going from Moscow along the BAM, such as Moscow-Tynda or Moscow-Severobaikalsk, the travel time will be about 3.5 days.
Step 3
You can get to Bratsk by bus or car from Irkutsk. The Irkutsk-Tulun-Bratsk highway is considered quite comfortable by local standards. Bus service is carried out twice a day from the Irkutsk bus station. The bus covers a distance of 600 kilometers in 10 hours, several stops are made along the way.
Step 4
During the summer navigation period, which in the Irkutsk region lasts from early June to late September, it is possible to get to Bratsk by water. Twice a week a high-speed motor ship runs from Irkutsk along the Angara. The views from the water to the banks of the Angara, practically untouched by civilization, will not leave anyone indifferent.
Step 5
When you get to Bratsk, be sure to take some time and visit the Bratsk seaside - a resort area on the coast of the Bratsk reservoir, famous not only for stunningly beautiful landscapes, but also for mineral water, which helps in the treatment of diseases of the nervous system and circulatory organs.
