For a horse trip to be successful, you need to prepare for it, that is, take the right equipment and clothing with you. A person who does not take the necessary things with him suffers himself on the road and spoils the mood of everyone around him. Preparation for horseback riding is slightly different, depending on whether you are doing it during the warm or cold season.

Warm season

Shoes are an especially important attribute of a horse trek. Ideally, equestrian boots should be purchased, in extreme cases equestrian leggings are also suitable. It is best that the shoes are made of genuine leather, as the feet hardly sweat in them. The boots should be high enough so that you don't risk rubbing your foot against the saddle or the horse's sides. Ordinary footwear, such as running shoes or regular boots, are not suitable for horse trekking.

Be sure to take care of special trousers for horse riding. You will walk at least 20-30 km per day, spending 4 to 6 hours in the saddle. Trousers should be soft and tight-fitting, and in no case should they chafe the delicate areas of the body. That is why you should not go hiking in jeans - their fabric is too rough. But the trousers should also not be slippery, otherwise you will move out of the saddle.

Bring some T-shirts and a windbreaker as your outerwear. A raincoat will also come in handy. Be sure to protect your hands with gloves. You can take special equestrian gloves, or you can buy ordinary construction gloves with a rubberized palm.

If you are planning to go swimming, don't forget your swimsuit. You will need warm woolen socks and a good jacket so that it is not cold in the evenings around the fire.

Cold season

It is necessary to choose warm clothes for horse trekking in the cold season, taking into account the peculiarities of horse riding. Usually, the weakest point of a person on horseback riding in winter is his legs. They are very cold, since you practically do not make movements with them, so the shoes should not only be comfortable for riding, but also very warm at the same time. Bring warm socks as well.

Take care of a comfortable hat that won't fly off your head. Be sure to have a sweater that protects your throat, or a scarf that won't get in the way of the ends. Winter seals should also be warm.

Other Necessary Things

A very important thing in a horse trek is wet wipes. They will help you cope with many difficulties. Especially wet wipes are indispensable in the cold season.

Do not forget about the usual hygiene items: toothpaste and a brush, soap and shampoo (it is better to take special small bottles for tourists with you), as well as a moisturizer or baby cream. In the summertime, mosquito repellent is essential. Both winter and summer sun glasses are useful.

On any trip, including horseback riding, you need to take a first-aid kit, a set of individual dishes, a flashlight and spare batteries for it, a penknife, as well as a needle and a strong thread.
