An amazing museum, where more than three hundred exhibits are collected, acquaints us with the most interesting of the sciences - physics. In it you can do what you cannot do in ordinary museums - run, jump, shout, and most importantly - touch everything with your hands.
Experimentanium is located in Moscow - it is a museum of science, presented in such a way that it is interesting not only for children of any age, but also for adults to learn about it. It is recommended to visit the museum both for younger schoolchildren before they start studying physics at school, in order to begin acquaintance with this complex science in a playful way, and for older children, in order to consolidate the knowledge about electricity, optics, acoustics, etc. gained in the classroom. take preschoolers with you, although it is believed that they will not understand, but this is not at all the case, kids of five and even three years old will find something to do in the museum.
On weekdays, the museum is open from 9.30 am to 7 pm. On weekends from 10.00 to 20.00. The ticket office stops working one hour before the museum closes.
You can buy a ticket in advance on the website. There is also a schedule of master classes and various interesting programs and films taking place in the museum.
Ticket price:
- Children under three years old - free.
- Children from 4 to 6 years old - 450 rubles.
- Adults - 550 rubles.
On weekends and holidays, the price of all tickets is 100 rubles higher. But there is one "Happy Day" in the week, when tickets for children and adults cost 450 rubles.
Each visitor is given a paper bracelet along with the ticket. It should be worn on the hand, it gives the right to leave the halls of the museum, for example, to visit a cafe, and enter back.
Mechanics
On the first floor of the museum, visitors first enter the realm of mechanisms. How interesting it is for the kid to sit down on the excavator levers himself! Here children will get acquainted with such a necessary concept as a lever, learn why it is needed and how it makes life easier for a person. Can you fly to the moon using Newton's mountain?
The stand with movable tubes attracts the attention of visitors for a long time. Everyone wants to leave an imprint of their palms, face or other part of the body. The straws are soft to the touch and very pleasant. I don't want to break away from such a funny activity.
And here is a strange but solid structure of tangled pipes that acts like a vacuum cleaner. A handkerchief brought to one end of the pipe is instantly sucked in and begins a journey along a complex trajectory. The spectacle is mesmerizing!
The big truck invariably attracts the attention of the boys. It's so interesting to sit in the cockpit and feel like a cool driver.
And you dare to sit on a chair, all studded with needles? And then get up from it and declare publicly that it doesn't hurt a bit.
Optics. Illusions, Water Room
There are many exhibits here devoted to optics. Children will learn what light is, how many colors it is divided into. Why it turns out a mirage, how illusionists do their tricks, how the human eye works. There is an opportunity to check if you can rob a bank (if necessary, of course) - go through the sentry laser beams.
Everyone loves the mirror maze. Try to walk through it without bumping into your reflection or getting bumps. The task is difficult, it is better if the guide is an experienced guide.
There is a Water Room on the same floor. A real paradise for future sailors. Children have at their disposal an interactive water trajectory with a complex system of locks. Kids stay in this room for a long time, launching boats. And older children get acquainted with the laws of hydrodynamics, learn how sea waves and eddies are formed, how sluices are arranged, and on what principle a water mill works. They will see with their own eyes the well-known "screw of Archimedes".
How would you feel if you were in a soap bubble? Real, only huge.
The hall dedicated to electromagnetism is very interesting. In it, visitors conduct various experiments with magnets. For example, they create a magnetic cloud or a flying magnet. And how interesting it is to create patterns from magnetic shavings!
Nearby there is a hall where mechanical puzzles await the little ones. More complex processes that nevertheless often occur in our daily life.
Acoustics. Puzzles. Crooked room
Mechanical exhibits are located on all three floors. In addition, the acoustics room is located on the third floor. Here the guys will understand how the deaf Ludwig Van Beethoven wrote music. They will see the sound, although, it would seem, this is impossible! But everything is understandable - ordinary physical laws, which are so boring to learn from a textbook, turn into magical miracles in Experimentanium. In conclusion, you can try yourself as a rocker or pianist, as well as measure the strength of your voice.
There are always a lot of people in the puzzle room. Here, the most active are parents who do not want to yield to their offspring in solving complex riddles. A useful room where attentiveness is honed, logic develops, thinking outside the box and … so much fun when a son manages to solve a particularly tricky puzzle before his dad.
And here is a strange room. It seems that everything is as it should be in it - the floor, the furniture. But as soon as a person enters it, he immediately feels dizzy, or even simply falls. What's the mystery? And the fact that the floor has a slope of 45 degrees, but the design of this room is such that it is impossible to notice it. It turns out cognitive dissonance - the eyes see the normal environment, and the vestibular apparatus signals the brain about danger. The brain does not know what to do and dizziness occurs, and some especially sensitive visitors have nausea and malaise. Small children are not recommended to be taken into this room, they can be very frightened.
Electricity
It would seem that such a simple and familiar phenomenon is electricity. We use it every day and can no longer imagine our existence without it. But many no longer think about how this phenomenon arises, where does the current come from in our homes and household appliances. Can people become conductors of electric current? How to handle it correctly and what to watch out for when working with electricity.
Space hall
A hall dedicated to space - for true romantics. To look with at least one eye into the secrets of the Universe, this opportunity is given to us by unique photographs taken with the Hubble Space Telescope. What does the Earth look like from space, what is a black hole, why comets fly and where do asteroids come from? The fascinating world of astronautics and astrophysics will not soon let go of its little explorers.
Where to eat
Visitors tired of impressions are offered a cozy and inexpensive cafe on the ground floor. Here you can refresh yourself with a cup of tea with a bun, pie, or have a hearty and tasty lunch. After resting, you can return to the exposition. The cafe is available not only to museum visitors, but also to everyone.
