Many tourist routes start from Petrozavodsk. From here you can quickly get to the islands of Kizhi and Valaam, to Solovki, in the Ladoga area. And the city itself is very interesting and beautiful. A favorite place of the townspeople and guests of the Karelian capital is the wonderful Onega embankment. You can get to Petrozavodsk from anywhere in Russia through Moscow or St. Petersburg.
Instructions
Step 1
There is an airport in Petrozavodsk, and international class. Several planes from Moscow and St. Petersburg arrive here every day. So from these cities you can fly to the Karelian capital in about two hours, and from St. Petersburg even faster. By the way, there is also a direct connection between Petrozavodsk and Helsinki.
Step 2
If you go to Karelia from Moscow or make a change in the capital, you need to get to the Leningradsky railway station. It is located near the Komsomolskaya metro station, on the famous square of three stations. There you can easily get on the Moscow-Petrozavodsk train and in about 12-15 hours you will be there. All trains going in the direction of Murmansk - from Moscow, Novorossiysk, Simferopol, Adler - are suitable for you. But be careful - they leave from different Moscow railway stations, and sometimes even from suburban stations.
Step 3
Several trains run from St. Petersburg to Petrozavodsk. The fastest option is the train, which departs from the Ladozhsky railway station. It only takes 8 hours. To get there, you need to get to the Ladozhskaya metro station, which is located on the yellow line. The train to Murmansk departs from the same station, which also goes through Petrozavodsk.
Step 4
The second route through St. Petersburg takes a little longer. You need to get to the Moscow railway station, that is, to the metro station "Ploschad Vosstaniya". This is the red subway line. If you are on the green line, you can get off at Mayakovskaya, but it is about a five-minute walk from the station. The trip to Petrozavodsk by this train will take about 15 hours.
Step 5
Karelia has an extensive network of bus routes. From many cities of the North-West region, Petrozavodsk can be reached without a change in Moscow or St. Petersburg. Direct bus communication exists with Vologda, Veliky Novgorod, Sortavala, Medvezhyegorsk and other cities. There are also international flights to Helsinki. As for St. Petersburg, you can get from the Northern capital to Petrozavodsk by two routes - from the bus station on Obvodny and from the Northern bus station.
Step 6
Do not forget that Petrozavodsk is located on one of the largest lakes in the region, and its center is washed by two rivers. So you can get to the Karelian capital by water. You can go on a cruise from St. Petersburg and see Valaam and Kizhi on the way.
