Today, air travel is not a solemn or special event, and more and more people can afford to experience all the sensations of flying, as well as take advantage of all its benefits.
Flights have become a part of people's lives, and even become a part of it for experienced travelers. Many passengers have sufficient funds to buy a plane ticket, but are afraid to fly. For such people, flying is a serious test of nerves for several hours. This condition is quite normal, and fear of flying is not a mental illness.
Just remember that the plane is one of the safest modes of transport in the world. Civil aviation in the modern sense is about a hundred years old. Prior to this, aircraft were designed not for tourist purposes, but for commercial and military purposes.
How often are they fed on planes?
It can be assumed that most of the population at least once in their life, but flew on airplanes. Active travelers and air passengers know that after the aircraft reaches the required altitude for a safe flight (11 kilometers), after about 20 minutes, the flight attendants begin offering cold drinks. After another 10-15 minutes, the crew offers to choose food. Usually in Russian and international airlines the choice is chicken, meat or fish with a side dish.
How many times the passenger will be fed depends on the flight time. So, if the flight lasts 3-4 hours - once a full lunch or breakfast from the main course, mini salad, sandwich (separately butter, bun, sausages) and sweet. Accordingly, if the flight is long, then they will be fed several times depending on the time of the day (breakfast, lunch and dinner). Meals on night flights are usually presented in the form of snacks.
What determines the quality of food
Many passengers on the forums complain about food, they say, the food on the planes is worse than in the school cafeteria. However, it should be understood that the quality of food also largely depends on the airline, the class of the ticket (economy, business, first class and others), the country of departure of the aircraft (food is loaded on board by the side from which the departure is made). For example, it is useless to demand tomato juice from flight attendants when flying out of Egypt.
Among the domestic economy class companies, UTair has the most decent food. Drinks are poured as much as passengers usually ask, the food is often tasty and hot. The larger and more expensive domestic carriers Transaero and Aeroflot, unlike aircraft, do not differ much from the most budgetary Russian companies, which is incomprehensible and unpleasant.
By the way, not all European carriers have decent food. In particular, KLM on flights for about 2 hours only offers dry snacks and drinks from meals. Lufthansa keeps both service and food at a decent level.
It is important to remember that even if you don't like the food, you do not need to argue with the crew. Firstly: it is not their responsibility to cook food, and secondly: everyone's taste preferences differ, and thirdly: the rules of good taste, even if they didn’t like something, were not canceled on board.
