On August 8, 2012, Rossiyskaya Gazeta published the text of an order from the Ministry of Culture, in which it was reported that from now on, Russian tourists will be notified of probable security threats if any arise in a particular country. This will allow them, if desired, to return the funds spent on the purchased tour.

Information about possible threats can now be found on the official website of the Federal Tourism Agency, read in state electronic and print media, and also ask travel agents and tour operators. Rostourism now makes decisions on informing citizens on the basis of data received from the Ministry of Internal Affairs, Rospotrebnadzor, Rosgidmet, as well as from some other departments.

Tourists have the right to refuse the services of the tour operator and return their money, but only if the trip did not take place in full. The representative of the travel agency is obliged to call all participants of the tourist trip or contact them in another way and inform about the occurrence of any dangerous situations of a natural, social, man-made and emergency nature.

If a message about an emergency was received directly during the trip, then the representatives of the agency accompanying the tourists must immediately proceed to evacuate people from the danger zone and send them to Russia. However, most often the participants of the trip are notified before the start of the trip.

To get the money spent on the "dangerous tour" back, contact the office of the agent company. Show your passport and purchased vouchers. Regardless of whether the trip has begun or not, the travel company is obliged to fully reimburse the funds spent on the trip. If you are officially refused to return the entire amount or part of it, then you need to file a claim with the court against this travel company.
