Italy is one of the countries participating in the Schengen Agreement, therefore its visa gives you the right to visit other countries that have signed the agreement. According to many ratings, Italy is one of the most benevolent European countries towards Russian citizens: visas for Russians are issued quite easily if you collect the necessary documents.

Step 1
International passport valid for at least 90 days after the expiry of the requested visa. According to the requirements of almost all Italian visa centers, the passport must have at least one blank page for pasting a visa. But in St. Petersburg they want to see at least three blank pages, be careful. If you have a second or old passport with Schengen visas, then you can attach it in support of your visa application. The first pages with personal data of both the new and the old (if you attach it) passport must be photocopied and attached.
Step 2
A completed application form in English or Italian, personally signed by the applicant. If you have children who are entered in the passport, a separate questionnaire is filled out for each of them. One fresh color photograph of 3, 5 x 4, 5 cm or 3 x 4 cm is pasted into the questionnaire.
Step 3
Internal passport, in which registration in Russia must be present. If you are applying in St. Petersburg, the registration period must be at least 3 months at the time of application.
Step 4
Round trip tickets. Both photocopies and printouts from the booking site will do. If you are making copies from the originals, be sure to bring the originals themselves to show the staff.
Step 5
Reservation from the hotel for the entire duration of the trip. You can provide a fax or attach a printout from the Internet sites. The reservation must include the full names of all tourists, the duration of their stay, as well as the name, address and telephone number of the hotel. If you are traveling on a tour, then you need to attach a copy of the voucher from the travel company.
Step 6
If the visit is private, then you need to show an invitation from an Italian resident legally residing there. The invitation is drawn up on a special form, which indicates the degree of kinship and the exact address of the inviting person. Also, the host undertakes the obligation to provide housing, medical care or money.
Step 7
Medical insurance, which is valid in all Schengen countries, is valid for no less than the duration of the trip. The amount of insurance coverage must be at least 30 thousand euros.
Step 8
As proof of employment, you need to attach a certificate from the place of work, in which you need to indicate the position and salary of the applicant, his length of service, the name of the director and accountant. The manager must sign the certificate and certify it with a seal. For individual entrepreneurs, you need to attach copies of the certificate of registration and tax registration, an extract from the USRIP and an extract from the company's bank account.
Step 9
A statement from the bank account, certified by the seal of the bank, on which there must be a sufficient amount for travel, which ranges from 50 to 70 euros for each day of stay in the country. Better to count with some margin. Italy also accepts a double-sided photocopy of a bank card with a check showing the outgoing balance as financial documents.
Step 10
Pensioners should attach a copy of the pension certificate and documents confirming the sufficient availability of funds. Students and pupils must show a certificate from the place of study.
Step 11
For those who do not pay for their trip themselves, you need to attach a sponsorship letter and all financial documents issued in the name of the sponsor.
