On Saturday, August 25, a transport and tourist service opened in Moscow, providing excursions around the capital of Russia on double-decker buses. After the end of the test trips, the new service will become available for Muscovites and guests of the capital.
The transport and tourist service City Sightseen Moscow, created with the support of the Moscow Department of Transport and the Committee for Tourism and Hotel Management, will start operating in September. At the end of August, test trips are carried out, in particular, routes and a timetable are being worked out. While three double-decker buses are in operation, five double-decker buses are expected to operate for a trial period until the end of 2012. Three routes for the movement of doubledeckers have already been agreed with the administration of the capital, at the moment one is used, around the Kremlin within the Garden Ring. It should be noted that City Sightseen already has a similar service in all other European capitals. Now he has appeared in Moscow.
The route is about 10 kilometers long and the bus takes about an hour. The movement starts from Bolotnaya Square, buses will run every 20 minutes. An interesting feature of the service is that the ticket, which costs 600 rubles, will be valid for a day, while the excursionist can ride the City Sightseen Moscow buses at least the whole day, getting off and on at any stop. The absence of a rigid binding to a specific bus will allow you to study the sights of the route in all details, without limiting yourself in the time of their inspection. For children and pensioners, the trip will be cheaper and will cost 400 rubles, and even more discount for students - they will be able to ride a double-decker for only 300 rubles.
The buses for Moscow will be exactly the same as in other European capitals - double-decker MAN Wagon Union with a sliding roof and windows on the second floor. In the cold season, the organizers of the service promise to use insulated double-decker with double glazing. Thanks to the audio system installed in the buses, supporting eight languages, tourists will be able to listen to the guide's detailed story about Moscow sights while driving and at stops.
