For those who decide to visit this beautiful island, you should immediately decide how best to explore all the beautiful places and, of course, soak up the beach. What is better bus, car or plane?
By bus
Probably the best way to get around the island is via Viazul buses. They are well stocked with large, comfortable seating; air conditioned; equipped with toilets. Viazul buses are most commonly used by foreigners and wealthy locals. The most popular route is Havana-Vinales. You need to book your ticket the day before departure in order to reserve your seat. You will not be able to buy a ticket right before departure.
An alternative is the government bus company Astro, serving smaller and less touristy cities. Pre-order is also required. However, these buses often break down, miss their schedule, and can get overcrowded. Some distances can be covered by special tourist minibuses. They use the coastal route, in contrast to Viazul, which travels on the highway. The cost is slightly higher, but this route is better if you do not want to be bored throughout the trip.
By car
Long distance taxi travel is quite expensive. For example, the cost of the Havana-Vinales route is about 90-100 convertible pesos. If you are adventurous and don't mind the smell of gasoline, then you can use the services of the locals for a slightly lower fee. Car rental will cost you 65 convertible pesos a day, plus a full tank of gas. The price of gasoline ranges from 0.75 to 0.90 convertible pesos per liter.
By plane
Cuba's national airline is Cubana de Aviaciyn. If you want to get to remote parts of the island (for example, to Santiago de Cuba from Havana), you can do it quickly and comfortably on one of the domestic flights. International airports are located in cities such as Havana, Varadero, Camaguey and Holguín. A taxi from Havana airport to the city will cost $ 8-10.
