Canberra is not on the coast, but it can be a great tourist destination. The distance from Sydney to the capital is approximately 280 km, and from Melbourne - 650 km.
Sights of the capital
The Canberra Parliament building houses the country's government. This structure was rebuilt several times until the desired design and shape was achieved. The modern version of the Parliament building is really impressive. It is simply huge, and there is a majestic mast on the roof. The structure is located on a hill; during the construction, the architects had to remove part of the hill. After the completion of the project, all the soil was put back again, placing a huge stunning flower garden on it. Now the area near the Parliament is fragrant almost all year round, delighting tourists and residents of Canberra.
