Step 1
When planning a trip, you need to take into account the schedule of the metro, it depends on the day of the week:

In the metro, in no case should you smoke, eat, drink or litter - there are very heavy fines for this and cameras are installed everywhere. It is also forbidden to transport animals and bicycles.

Before the first trip, you need to buy a special card, you can do this only at the ticket office. There are 3 types of cards:
- day ticket - a travel card for a day, without limiting the number of trips. Price - AED 14;
- silver - a regular rechargeable card, its price is AED 20 (AED 14 on the account); a trip less than 3 kilometers will cost AED 1.8, within one zone - AED 2.3, within 2 zones - AED 4.1, more than 2 zones - AED 5.8;
- gold - a card for travel in the Gold class. It has significantly fewer people and more comfortable seating, but travel costs 2 times more.
Step 4
There are turnstiles at the cash desks, you need to attach a card to a special scanner and your balance will be shown on the terminal. The turnstile will open if your card has enough money for at least the shortest trip. If there is not enough money for a trip, the card will go into negative territory and it will be necessary to replenish it before the next trip.
Step 5
In Dubai, the overground metro and trains run along the center of the bridge, and the aprons are located each on its own side. It is necessary to climb to them from different sides (along escalators, stairs or by elevator). Therefore, in the lobby you need to find your way - which way to go. To do this, you need to know the name of the terminal station towards which you want to go.
Step 6
There is a metro map on the platform and each carriage, but it is better to download the map to your phone or print it out in advance so that you will always have it with you. The interval between train movements varies throughout the day, from 3 to 8 minutes. In all carriages, stops are announced in English and Arabic, and information is also duplicated on screens. Next, we select the correct carriage - the first carriage is only for holders of gold cards, the second is only for women and children, the rest are ordinary.
Step 8
In the future, you can replenish the card at the cash desk or through the terminal. The terminal has a very simple interface, it accepts all bills and bank cards.
Step 9
There are bus stops at every metro station. Buses run around this station. At each stop there is a bus scheme, some stops are air-conditioned. Buses run less often than trains - waiting times can be up to 30 minutes. The first part of the bus is intended for women and children. All buses are air-conditioned, but not all announce stops.
