Instructions
Step 1
Payment of the consular fee. Fill out the receipt on the website of the US Embassy in the Russian Federation - https://www.ustraveldocs.com/ru_ru/ru-niv-paymentinfo.asp. To choose the required receipt, decide on the type of visa that you need (the amount of the consular fee depends on the type of visa - https://www.ustraveldocs.com/ru_ru/ru-niv-visafeeinfo.asp#feeamount). The US Embassy in the Russian Federation recommends paying the consular fee at the Russian Post offices or at VTB24 Bank. In the future, the information contained in the receipt will be required to schedule an interview at the embassy
Step 2
Submitting a DS-160 application. This application must be completed prior to scheduling an interview. Online https://ceac.state.gov/genniv/ select the country and city where you are going to apply for a visa (Russia, Moscow) and language (Russian). Click the Start Application button. The application must be completed in English, with the exception of the full name, which is filled in in Russian
Step 3
Loading a photo. As you complete your DS-160 application, you will be asked to upload your photo to the site. Requirements: 5X5 cm, minimum resolution 600X600 pixels, maximum resolution 1200X1200 pixels, empty background, white background color. The head size from the top of the hair to the bottom of the chin should be 50-70% of the height of the photo. The eyes should be 2/3 of the height of the photo from the bottom edge. Better to contact a photo studio and ask to save a digital copy of the photo on a flash card.
Step 4
Confirmation print. After completing the application, a confirmation page with a barcode will be generated. You need to print it, and also send a copy to yourself by e-mail.
Step 5
Recording for an interview. Go to the page https://cgifederal.secure.force.com/ and register. Log in using your username and password. To schedule an interview, you will need to enter your passport number, consular fee receipt number, ten-digit barcode number from the DS-160 application confirmation page
Step 6
How to find out the receipt number. When paying the consular fee at VTB24 Bank, the receipt number will consist of the date of payment of the receipt and the document number (document number xxxxxx) - ddmmyyxxxxxxx (all numbers without dots and spaces). When paying the fee at the Russian Post, the receipt number will be the date of payment + the transfer number (translation No. xxxxxx) - ddmmyyxxxxxxx (without dots and spaces).
Step 7
Interview. For an interview, you must take all the documents listed at the beginning of the article. The international passport must be valid for 6 months from the end of your stay in the United States. Accompanying persons are not allowed for the interview. The interview is conducted in English.
Step 8
Obtaining a passport with a visa. You can track your passport in your personal account on the page https://cgifederal.secure.force.com/. You can also find out the status of the application by calling the call center +7(495)668-1087 or in the chat - https://www.ustraveldocs.com/ru_ru/ru-main-chat.asp. You can pick up your passport at the office of the courier company Pony Express, if you did not choose home delivery when filling out the application.
