Exchange rubles for euros while still in Russia. In Italy, it is extremely rare to find a bank that accepts rubles for exchange. And even if there is one, the course in it will be absolutely unprofitable. Even carrying a small amount of money across the border, have a bank statement about the money exchange operation with you.

Remember, Italy has a massive government anti-smoking program. Therefore, smoking is allowed only on the street, and in buildings - only in designated areas. It is strictly forbidden to smoke in bars and restaurants, hotels, public places. Otherwise, you face a fine of up to 250 euros. And the cigarettes themselves are sold only in special shops or vending machines and are significantly more expensive than in Russia. So a trip to Italy is a good reason to quit smoking.

Take a close look at receipts in bars and restaurants. In most establishments, the service charge is already included in the bill. As a rule, this is the top figure on the invoice and it is 8-10 percent of the total amount of the check. Therefore, whether to leave additional tips or not is at your discretion. If you just want to have a cup of coffee, order at the bar. In this case, you will not be charged a tip. This rule is especially true for cities such as Venice and Rome, where an innocent coffee break can cost you 50-70 euros.

Follow the shopping rule. Never buy anything handheld from illegal street vendors. There is a fine for buying and selling counterfeit goods in Italy. Always take and keep receipts from purchases throughout your stay in the country. If you are walking with a package from a store, the police have the right to stop you and check for a receipt.

Watch out for personal safety in major cities. The places of mass gathering of tourists attract pickpockets and petty thieves. Do not carry a backpack behind your back, hang your bags over your shoulder and press them tightly to you. Photo and video cameras should hang around your neck. When buying souvenirs on the street, prepare small money for this in advance by transferring it from your wallet to your pocket.
