Of course, Rio de Janeiro is one of the most beautiful cities on Earth, which is worth seeing at least once in your life. It is a city of social contrasts, incredible nature and independent residents. Even if you only have a few days, you can still see a lot if you plan ahead.
Instructions
Step 1
Beaches: Copacabana and Ipanema
Copacabana is the city's central beach, the longest. The paving stone pattern of the embankment serves as one of the symbols of the city and is depicted on clothes and souvenirs. There are always a lot of people on the beach: people run along the ocean, play football and volleyball in the evenings. In the evenings, there is a souvenir market on the embankment.
Ipanema is a small and relatively quiet beach, very popular with the locals. It is here, on the rock, that people gather in the evenings to watch the sunset. It is customary to see off the sun with applause.
Step 2
Statue of Christ on Mount Corcovado
Perhaps the main symbol of the city, protecting Rio from all adversity. You can get to Mount Corcovado by one of the city buses or by taxi. And to go up - by funicular, they run every 20 minutes. There are always a lot of tourists near the statue of Christ, who certainly need to take a picture with outstretched arms against its background.
Step 3
Sugar Loaf
You can climb the mountain by cable car. The ascent is carried out in two stages with a stop on the Urka mountain. It is best to go to Sugar Loaf in the afternoon, 3-4 hours before sunset, so that you have the opportunity to walk, enjoy the stunning view of the city, watch the sunset and the evening city in lights.
Step 4
Maracanã stadium
Football is not just a sport for Brazilians, it is their passion. Maracana Stadium is a special place for every resident of Rio. During the daytime, you can visit the museum inside the building. It is recommended to get to the stadium by taxi, as the area is rather unsafe.
Step 5
Sambodrome
It is here that a carnival is held every year - the brightest event that gathers an incredible number of spectators. Before the carnival, a rehearsal takes place, when samba schools are held at the samba, however, without such colorful costumes and decorations as at the carnival itself.
Step 6
Favelas
These are special areas located on the mountains, where the marginalized initially lived, drug trafficking and other criminal activities flourished. Currently, the situation has changed somewhat: some favelas have turned into independent areas, where not only poor people live, but also those who do not want to pay city tariffs. In the favela of Rocinha, for example, it is no more dangerous now than in the central regions or on Copacabana. There are organized excursions to the favelas now. If you decide to go on your own, then you should not behave like a "tourist" - point your finger at everything and actively take pictures.
Step 7
City center
In the center, you can walk around the Lapa district, admire the architecture, walk along the central streets, visit the Teatro Municipal. All this is best done before sunset.
