Kaliningrad is one of the most amazing Russian cities, and you should plan your excursions in advance. This is because even in a few days in the former Konigsberg you may not have time to see all the iconic places. By the way, there are many interesting things outside of it - the same Curonian Spit.

The Cathedral can be safely called the hallmark of the city. Its construction was completed in 1380, but then the appearance of the building was supplemented. Today, on the territory of the attraction, you can visit the Museum of the Cathedral, the Museum of Immanuel Kant with his grave, and the chapel. The building is located on the island of Kant.

The Amber Museum is the only institution of this kind in Russia. Its expositions occupy as many as three floors and are dedicated, of course, to amber stone. In total, 28 halls are open to visitors in the museum, where you can see jewelry, various crafts, learn a lot of interesting things about the history of stone mining. By the way, it is in Kaliningrad that the only plant on Earth is located, which performs a full cycle of obtaining and processing a natural miracle.

The fishing village is one of the newest attractions in the city. It is a craft and ethnographic complex with several objects. The area resembles a German fish market in style, and is connected to it by a drawbridge across the Pergola River. This center will become a good place for walking, tourists will be able to visit souvenir shops, cozy cafes.

Königsberg Castle must also be visited. More precisely, its ruins. The popularity of the monumental structure is largely due to the legend that the Amber Room is located here. Its excavations are still underway. And the castle itself, built in 1255, is a branch of the Regional Museum of History and Art.

It is worth going to the Kaliningrad Zoo not only to get to know all its inhabitants. There is also a stunning arboretum. The very sight of Kaliningrad appeared on the map of the city in 1896; today it is home to a huge number of animals - about 3500 individuals of various species. Some of them are listed in the Red Book. The zoo also has an aquarium and a terrarium.

The city has the Royal, Brandenburg, Ausfal and other gates. In total, seven such structures have survived. The most significant of them are the Royal Gate, which today is part of the Museum of the World Ocean. This museum complex is the pride of Kaliningrad. On its territory there are several real ships, for example, the research vessel "Vityaz", the icebreaker "Krasin".

The most European of Russian cities will certainly captivate tourists with a variety of attractions and ancient buildings. It is imperative to return to Kaliningrad again, if only because the former Konigsberg is changing and expanding every day.
