China is the most populous country in the world, one and a half billion people live there permanently, nevertheless, many of our compatriots constantly leave for China. What prompts them to do this?

Step 1
China has a lot of significant economic advantages, especially important for Russian pensioners; many of our elderly compatriots living near the border with China are selling their homes and going to live in the Middle Kingdom. It's all about the difference in prices - selling an apartment in Russia allows you to buy housing near the sea in China and live on one pension is much more comfortable than at home. Of course, China attracts not only retirees, but also young entrepreneurs, English teachers, engineers, IT workers and freelancers. If you have knowledge of English and at least a basic understanding of Chinese, you are guaranteed a decent salary.
Step 2
The point is the difference in price levels. In small border towns, you can buy a good apartment for ten to fifteen thousand euros, all utility costs will result in three hundred to four hundred euros a year. Products cost several times less than at home. Medicine in small cities is at a good level, and in large cities it surpasses domestic medicine in some places. China attracts young people as a place of study, because it costs much less here than in Europe, and the quality of education is growing. In China, foreigners are very friendly, albeit with strong curiosity.

The most important thing to know when moving to China is that it is virtually impossible to obtain citizenship of this country. China does not recognize dual citizenship; you can officially become a "Chinese" by making a "contribution to the development of the country." This means a serious investment of millions in the Chinese economy or many years of leadership of one of the largest enterprises.
Step 4
So it is better to leave for China on long-term visas. The most popular options:
- study at a Chinese higher education institution and subsequent employment. This method is suitable for those who have already started learning Chinese;
- business in China;
- work in China;
- own real estate in China.
