Step 1
Choosing a place.
First you need to prepare a campfire site. Choose it in an open area, but it must certainly be protected from the wind (preferably water near it). Make a fire already on a trampled site, where there is no grass, or on an old fireplace. For convenience, take a sapper shovel with you - it will help to remove the sod from the place you have designated for the fire. Be sure to clear the area from leaves, branches, grass - they can catch fire.
Step 2
Observe the fire safety rules:
• The fire should be built 4-6 meters away from trees, stumps or roots. There should be no tree branches hanging over the fire.
• Never light a fire in young conifers. As a result of the slightest negligence, a terrible fire can occur.
• Dangerous bonfire in clearings. Due to combustible materials, the fire will spread quickly and the fire will be quite difficult to stop.
• Never start a fire in peat bogs. Unnoticed smoldering can lead to a fire that is difficult to extinguish even with water.
Step 3
Kindling.
Lighting a fire always begins with kindling, make it from small twigs, dry moss, shavings, paper. In wet weather, a similar combustible material can be obtained from chopped dead wood or coniferous litter, covered with tree crowns. Place the prepared kindling under the laid brushwood, and then set it on fire. Place the thicker wood carefully on top. In the rain, make a fire under a cape or raincoat. The more it pours, the tighter the kindling needs to be laid.
Step 4
Fire fuel.
Use dry or already dried wood to make the fire quicker. Dry the firewood over a fire, laying it on high rails. Place the green logs so that they cover the fire from the wind.
