How often people lack silence in their lives … Only the blue sky overhead, the scent of herbs, the warm sun caressing the cheeks, and the singing of birds.
If it so happens that you are tired of the bustle of the world, of the pace that invariably accompanies all cities, then a trip to Talezh will be an outlet, a breath of fresh air in life. You can walk around its surroundings, get in touch with history, feel the spirit by going on a journey through it. Sit back, it starts.
Background
Once upon a time, grace walked the world and chose where to live. She stopped her choice at many peaceful places scattered in different parts of the Earth. And as you may have guessed, Talezh was also lucky to host such an honored guest in his area. The ringing pre-dawn silence, peacefully swaying spruce and birch trees, the murmur of a holy spring - all this conveys the atmosphere inherent exclusively in this place. How the holy spring appeared here is written in the annals of past years.
There is a beautiful legend on this score, or maybe a true story, who knows? At the time of paganism in Russia, in the place where the stream now flows, a giant oak grew. The locals, who endowed the trees with human qualities, worshiped him for his wisdom and power. As a sign of their respect, the giant was decorated with various household items, food, and various bead berries.
And then one day a detachment of Vladimir Serpukhovsky gathered to the inhabitants of that land with a missionary task - to baptize pagans and convert them to the Christian faith. The locals, of course, were not happy with such guests, and on the threshold of a religious conflict, a miracle happened, as expected. At night, when lightning threw its arrows to the ground, they went to ask for protection from their intercessor - an oak tree, and it burns with a blue flame, only the embers crackle. And from its roots, right from the fire itself, a spring gushes. The pagans decided that this miracle happened for a reason. Their very patron and patron will bless them to accept the Christian faith, sending themselves to replace the source of the saint. They did not anger the heavens and, humbly accepting their fate, allowed themselves to be baptized in the water that flowed in the place of the old oak. Since then, this place has become a saint.
Now Talezh is a village not far from Moscow, where pilgrims from all over the world flock. On the territory there is a temple of St. David of Serpukhov, a belfry, a spring and a women's and men's font, where everyone can plunge.
Talezh is located on the banks of the river with the beautiful name Smorodinka. Chekhov once loved to rest in these parts. Not far from Talezh there is a city named after him. Here he built a village school. He loved to walk along country roads, drawing inspiration for future works.
