There are about 90 seas on planet Earth. However, there is a sea that literally has no shores. On all sides, it is limited only by ocean currents. It belongs to one of the seven wonders of the world.

The unusual sea has the ability to change its area depending on the season and sea currents. The approximate area of this reservoir is over eight million square kilometers. As for the depth, in some places it reaches 7 kilometers. All this is the Sargasso Sea.
Step 2
Its water area stretches between the Florida Peninsula and the Canary Islands. The Sargasso Sea is surrounded on all sides by the waters of the Atlantic Ocean. This area is dominated by the circulation of strong currents, which include the Canary, Gulf Stream, North Atlantic and North Passat currents. The cycle of these currents is clockwise. Bermuda is also located in the Sargasso Sea. The movement of water never stops.

Since ancient times, the Sargasso Sea has been quite dangerous for sea travelers. During the sailing period, ships had to wait for weeks for a tailwind. The calm at sea made the journey incredibly long. There are also legends that seafarers were pulled to the seabed. And even today this sea, which is a grandiose raft of floating algae, remains a mystery.

The Sargasso Sea in its shape resembles a huge ellipse of light green color. This effect is achieved due to the presence in the water of a huge amount of various algae. Only one square meter has about two tons of algae. This natural wonder can only be found in the Sargasso Sea. The well-known Columbus called this place "a jar filled with algae."

In winter, the temperature level of the upper layer does not drop below 18 degrees Celsius. In the summer season, the water can warm up to +28 degrees. Due to the constant currents, the water in the sea is constantly mixed, which allows it to remain warm even at a half-kilometer depth. The largest sea on the planet also has the highest salt level in its water.

Calm weather is observed on the territory of the Sargasso Sea. The water is not exposed to wind impact. It is a quiet area of the Atlantic Ocean surrounded by turbulent underwater currents.

As for the inhabitants of the sea, there are not very many of them. Uninterrupted currents negatively affect the development of phytoalgae. Since there are a small number of microorganisms in the Sargasso world, this makes it possible to increase the transparency of the water and a fairly high level of visibility.
