Russian Island is a part of the city of Vladivostok, separated from it by the Eastern Bosphorus Strait. Until recently, the island was a closed military base, now the island has been opened and civilian facilities are being built with might and main. In 2012, a new cable-stayed bridge was opened, connecting the city with the island.

Russian Island is one of the most popular places for recreation for residents and guests of Vladivostok. On the island there is an opportunity to fish, triple picnics, swim in the sea and go diving. You can also look at the historical monuments, because the island used to be a fortress of Vladivostok. There are many forts, tunnels, buildings of the "Voroshilov battery" built for defense from enemies. Tourists are attracted by beautiful bays, picturesque underwater world, huge hills, various beaches and deciduous forests.
If until recently the island could only be reached by ferry, today, after the new bridge has been built, you can visit the Russian Island using minibuses, buses and taxis.
How to get from Vladivostok to Russian Island
From the mainland of the regional center to the island there are buses with route numbers 15, 29, 22, 74, 75 and 76b. By phone + 7 (423) 260 52 52 and +7 (423) 243 37 95 you can find out the exact timetable for public transport.
Bus number 15 starts from Pokrovsky Park from 06:50 to 23:39 every 15 minutes. The final stop of the route is the stop "FEFU", which is located immediately after passing through the bridge. Flight No. 29 departs from the Izumrud stop and goes to the Voevoda Bay. The bus departs daily with a movement interval of 40 minutes.
The campus of the Far Eastern Federal University is located on Russky Island, and passenger traffic to the island increases from September to June. Therefore, the city administration, together with the educational institution, introduced new bus routes No. 74, 75 and 76b.
10 buses serve flight number 74, which runs from the Belyaeva stop to the Far Eastern Federal University. Bus number 75 follows from the "Children's Park", number 76b - from "Tikhaya Bay". Transport runs during rush hours every 7 minutes, in the middle of the day at intervals of 16 minutes. The fare is 18 rubles.
You can get to the Russian Island by minibus taxi # 22d. The taxi departs from the Izumrud stop at 07:50, 10:10, 12:25, 14:45, 16:55 and 19:05. From the "Voevoda Bay" minibus taxi №29k departs daily with a movement interval of 30 minutes. from 06:45 to 22:30. The minibus passes through the villages of Podnozhie, Shigino, Tserkovnaya Pad, Ekipazhny.
After the construction of the cable-stayed bridge to the Russian Island, all ferries were canceled. In addition to public transport, the island can be reached by taxi and private car. Taxis take from 300 rubles. per hour or 150 p. for 1 km on the way.
