The word "savages", in addition to its main meaning, during the Soviet era began to be used also in a different sense. Savages called those people who came to rest at the resorts on their own, and not on trade union vouchers. They did not settle in sanatoriums and recreation centers, like organized vacationers, but rented housing. The USSR collapsed long ago, and this type of recreation is still very popular with Russians. Moreover, they like to have a rest as "savages" not only within Russia, but also abroad.

The Azov and Black Sea coasts are still popular among savages who want to relax in Russia. The very shallow (and therefore well-warmed) Sea of Azov is a good option for a budget vacation. The main disadvantage of the Azov coast is monotonous and sparse vegetation. A wonderful climate, warm sea, a lot of natural and historical sights - all this attracts a large number of vacationers to Crimea. However, due to the events in Ukraine, a trip to Crimea by rail is now fraught with great difficulties, and the crossing of the Kerch Strait may take a long time. It is better for savages to use the services of air carriers - "low-cost" if possible.

The indisputable advantages of this vacation spot include: low prices, hospitality and hospitality of local residents, beautiful tropical nature, warm sea. Those Russians who have a Schengen visa can also rest as savages in Greece or Croatia. If, first of all, you need not a beach vacation, but acquaintance with historical sights, it is better to book a hotel in some large European city (for example, Prague, or Paris), and drive around the surroundings in a rented car or using public transport.
