Instructions
Step 1
The first thing to determine is the mode of travel that is right for you. There are three ways to get from Barcelona to Salou: by taxi, by bus and by train.
Step 2
The most expensive, but also the fastest and most comfortable way is by taxi. Taxis in Spain work by meter. Depending on the presence or absence of traffic jams, the road will take from 50 minutes and will cost you about 150 euros during the day and up to 200 euros at night.
Step 3
If your budget does not include such expenses, one of the branded buses of the Plan (Bus Plana) will take you from Barcelona to Salou. The ticket price is 15 euros one way and 20 euros for a round ticket - a ticket in both directions. You can buy tickets not only at the Plan's offices, but also directly on the buses.
Step 4
Plan buses stop in several places, but the easiest way to find a stop is at Plaça Catalunya, the starting point for intercity buses heading to Salou, and at 36 Passeig de Gràcia, next to the Mango store. The trip by this type of transport from Barcelona will take from 2 to 3 hours, depending on traffic jams.
Step 5
Another way - the least expensive and most time efficient - is the Renfe electric train. You can take it to Salou from three places: the Sants station, located in Plaza de España, the Paseig de Gracia station, located not far from Plaza Catalunya, the Estacio de Franca station, which can be found near the Barcelonetta district. Trains in Spain are very comfortable, so an hour and a half will not be a burden.
Step 6
A train ticket from Barcelona to Salou costs a little over 8 euros, a round-trip ticket costs about 17, you can buy it at the box office located at each station. Trains in Spain run on schedule, so even a slight delay may result in you having to wait for the next train.
