Jordan is an ideal country in terms of sightseeing, where you can combine beach vacations, treatment and viewing historical and architectural monuments.
Numerous peoples living in Jordan have left their mark on the culture, as evidenced by almost 20 thousand monuments. In Jordan, you can enjoy the gentle Red Sea and rejuvenate with the gifts of the Dead Sea. The city of Jerash is located not far from Amman (the capital of Jordan). It harmoniously combines features of the Greco-Roman style in combination with oriental traditions. The streets of the city are paved with stones, everywhere you can see ancient temples erected in honor of Artemis or Zeus, theaters, swimming pools, fountains, the ruins of one of the mosques, as well as numerous columns and a majestic triumphal arch. To the west of Amman lies the city of Salt, a well-preserved example of a typical Ottoman city. Narrow streets, snow-white houses, with Turkish lancet windows. You can get acquainted with the history of Jordan in the Archaeological Museum, which houses a huge collection of ceramics, silver jewelry, Bedouin-woven carpets, Palestinian embroidery and mother-of-pearl products. Another gem of Jordan can be called the "city of mosaics" Madaba. It was founded almost 5000 years ago, and became famous thanks to the religious buildings of Christianity and, in particular, unique mosaics, one of which is the map of the Holy Land, dated to the 6th century. The map shows the area from the city of Tire to the Nile Delta. The treasure of Jordan is Petra, built by the Nabateans - warriors and stonecutters who lived in the south of Jordan several millennia ago. Petra is located in the middle of the desert - in the mountains. An incredible sight is the opportunity to see Petra at different times of the day, when the mountains change color from pink to dark red and from orange to purple. The city is literally filled with temples, tombs, baths, shops. There is even an amphitheater for 8,500 spectators. All structures are not just built - they are carved into the rocks, which makes Petra unique and inimitable. A fine example of architectural art and luxury are the Khalifa palaces of the desert, which were once buried in blooming gardens and incredible beauty of greenery, thanks to unique irrigation systems. Traveling around the country, examining numerous architectural monuments under the hot sun of Jordan, one wants to enjoy the sea as well. To do this, you can go to the south of the country to Aqaba, nestled on the coast of the Red Sea. In Aqaba, you can swim all year round due to its special climate. For lovers of the deep sea, Aqaba offers almost three dozen diving sites. It is impossible not to visit the Dead Sea, which, despite the name, has incredible healing properties. An unforgettable experience is given by the opportunity to immerse yourself in oily water, as well as to experience the healing effect of mud, famous all over the world. And finally, you can visit the Moon Valley - Wadi Rum. The sand and wind did a great job carving bizarre patterns on the rocks. Desert landscapes alternate with powerful rocks, some of them reaching almost 2000 meters in height. Few dare to conquer these peaks, but it is impossible to deny yourself the pleasure of wandering through the gorges and picturesque hills of sandstone of different shades and colors. If you don't want to wander on foot, you can take a camel ride, and to complement the indescribable sensations, you can spend the night in a Bedouin tent, enjoying aromatic coffee.
