Do not like to travel because of the fact that you are seasick in transport? Fortunately, there are several ways to combat motion sickness!
Causes of seasickness
And yet, why does someone feel at home on the water transport, while someone on board cannot hold out for a minute?
It's all about the inconsistency of the information that your brain receives: the eyes see movement, fluid moves in the vestibular apparatus, but the muscles are at rest. Those who have a less developed vestibular apparatus, and become victims of seasickness.
What to do before your trip?
- Keep in mind that any illness will aggravate motion sickness. Therefore, even if you just have a slight cold, try to recover before the long trip.
- The opinion that in case of seasickness one should refrain from food for a day is erroneous. Moreover, an empty stomach will only increase the discomfort! It is necessary to refresh yourself, but at the same time avoid spicy, fatty, salty, sweet, soda, milk and alcohol. At the same time, refrain from overeating!
- Don't forget the power of self-belief! Set yourself up for a great trip, that seasickness is not a problem for you. And, oddly enough, you will actually feel better.
What to take with you?
For many, it helps to fight bad health:
- mineral water;
- mint chewing gum or peppermint hard candy;
- tea with ginger or candied ginger;
- Pharmaceuticals can also come to the rescue: do not forget about the pills against seasickness, just be sure to read the instructions!
Choose the right place in transport
To minimize discomfort, you need to occupy those places in the transport from which you can focus your gaze on the horizon during the trip. Therefore, the best solution in the car would be to take a seat next to the driver, on the bus, as well as on the plane - in front of the passenger compartment. On the plane, take a window seat, and on the bus try to look out the front window.
Refrain from reading in public transport. It is also undesirable to close your eyes.
