Sochi is the birthplace of Russian tea. For quite a long time, it was believed that Russia was not at all a suitable place for growing tea. And all these doubts were dispelled by the experienced tea grower Koshman. It was he who first planted a variety of tea here that can adapt to the local climate. This is how Russia got its own kind of tea with a unique and unrepeatable aroma.
Sochi is the only place in the Russian Federation where you can see palm trees. But not the "home" ones that stand on the windowsills, but real southern palms. Also, plants "unique" for the cold climate grow here - magnolia and eucalyptus. These beautiful trees have become the hallmark of the city.
