Rental prices in Thailand
Rental housing in Thailand is strikingly different from rental in Russia. First, most often the supply here significantly exceeds the demand. Secondly, house prices remain very low. The local currency, called the baht, is roughly equal to the ruble.
If we talk about apartments, studios suitable for living without a full-fledged kitchen (which is not too needed in this country) can be found for about 4-5 thousand rubles a month. Houses, especially in beach resorts, will cost more - the simplest options will cost 10-12 thousand, for this money you will most likely get a house with one or two bedrooms, a living room, a kitchen and a bathroom. However, if you are traveling in the north of the country, you can find one-room or two-room houses there for 5-7 thousand.
Utility bills, if you are going to use the air conditioner, will cost you another 1, 5-2, 5 thousand rubles. Without an air conditioner, the amount will be about 2 times less.
Please note that most landlords ask for a deposit (deposit) upon check-in, usually from a few thousand baht to the amount of a two-month rental. This deposit is returned to you at the end of the lease term; utility bills are usually deducted from it.
Search for accommodation
Renting a property in Thailand doesn't need to be rushed. It is best to rent a hotel room in the city of your choice for a couple of days and start exploring the surroundings. Almost everywhere you will see ads for renting houses and apartments (condominiums or condos). In tourist areas, most of the tuk-tukers speak English, so you just need to stop the tuk-tuk driver and ask him to show you the rented houses. For such services, the driver can pay 400-600 rubles. During your tour of the city, he will most likely show you some interesting options.
When you find a suitable accommodation, negotiate the terms of the lease with the owner. If you are looking to rent a house for several months, the landlord will give you a small discount. Be sure to find out that in a house with the Internet, in Thailand, at present, there are practically no problems with the network, but it is imperative to clarify this point. After you have discussed all the details of the lease with the owner of the house, you will need to sign a contract. It is usually drafted in two languages - Thai and English. All you need is a passport and copies of important pages. Carefully study the English version of the contract, if you have agreed on any nuances with the owner orally, ask him to amend the contract.
