Among the most popular resorts in Russia, the Black Sea coast is in the first place with Anapa and Gelendzhik as the most popular cities for summer holidays. These places are great for couples with children, young people and the elderly. However, they have their own specific differences that should be taken into account.
Anapa
In general, the resort is flat and has no mountains nearby. The climate is even, pleasant, without sudden changes in day and night temperatures. It should only be noted that for very young children the weather can be somewhat cool, leading to colds. Also winds are not uncommon.
As for the sea, it is quite shallow, the smooth entry into the water and the increase in depth allows both adults and children to swim. Therefore, Anapa is often called a children's resort. There are both sandy and pebbly beaches.
In addition, the developed infrastructure of the city is largely focused on children's recreation. A large water park, an amusement park, a visiting circus (or even two), a dolphinarium on Pionersky Prospekt. There are also a lot of places of entertainment right on the street: car and motorcycle rental, children's game machines and much more.
With older children, you can go to the city cinema. By the way, it has excellent accessibility for both children and adults in wheelchairs. Moreover, you can visit the new modern shopping center, which also has a cinema and many shops.
In terms of housing in Anapa, there are no problems: you can rent everything - from a simple hotel house or apartment to a magnificent modern sanatorium. Particularly indicative in this respect is Pionersky Prospekt with its numerous children's camps, holiday homes, sanatoriums and hotels of various categories.
It should also be added that in the city all paths and passages are laid with flat tiles and equipped with ramps.
Gelendzhik
The place is more mountainous if there is a preference to rest in the midst of mountains. The climate is also generally mild, but it can have sharp changes in day and night temperatures.
The sea is mostly calm, as it is surrounded by mountains that form a kind of cove. The result is a quiet place, but dirt is possible, since the enclosure of the space does not favor regular water changes. And the depths can be sharper, with significant drops just offshore. The beaches, unlike Anapa, are exclusively pebbly.
The infrastructure is not as developed as in Anapa, however, the city has a beautiful embankment, where performances of artists, competitions, discos on the beach are constantly organized. And it cannot be said that everything here is focused on children. The resort has an older contingent and is more suitable for people who prefer active adult recreation.
Accommodation in Gelendzhik can also be rented on your own, but there are much fewer sanatoriums as such. Focusing more on hotels, guest houses and the private sector.
In general, if the plans for the summer are children's and family holidays, then Anapa is perfect. And Gelendzhik is more in line with the image of a youth hangout place.
