One of the most famous resorts of the Sinai Peninsula is Nuweiba. Once this town was small, but now it has turned into a rather large resort, which is located 85 kilometers north of Dahab, nestled between the high hills of the desert and the Strait of Aqaba.
Now Nuweiba is not even called the settlement itself, but a section of the coast on which many small settlements are located, as well as the port of Nuweiba, which, as a rule, is used by passenger ferries sailing towards the coast of Saudi Arabia. In the distant past, Nuweiba was the most important point on the path of Muslim pilgrimage to Mecca.
Nuweiba is a settlement divided into 2 main centers - Nuweiba Muzayana, which is located 7 kilometers south of the city, and Nuweiba Tarabin, located 2 kilometers north of the city.
Nuweiba resort is famous for the amazing variety and beauty of coral reefs, thanks to which there are excellent conditions for diving. Another attraction of this place is a very small bay with a unique "dolphin beach". The fact is that a Bedouin family lives on this shore, which somehow managed to tame several dolphins. This allowed enterprising travel agencies to include "swimming with dolphins" in their excursion to Sinai.
Mount Moses, 2285 meters high, becomes a target for thousands of pilgrims every year. According to an ancient legend, it was on this mountain that Moses received the biblical commandments from the hands of God. Tradition says that those who find themselves on Mount Moses at sunrise will be forgiven for all their sins. At the very foot of the mountain, where, according to legend, the conversation between Moses and God took place, the monastery of St. Catherine is now located, which is considered the most ancient Orthodox monastery in the world.
Another famous attraction of Sinai is the Colored Canyon. An amazing gift from nature: sandy and stone rocks that shimmer with all the colors of the rainbow - from modest and pure white to bright and aggressive red. It looks great and unforgettable.
